hello! i'm from singapore, sec 4 (that's year 10 i think, i'm 16 now) and yup, it's my o level year so i'll be going to either jc, poly or yeah, acs i next year.

dunno where i should go though.

i wanted to go to acs i in the past because of their international baccelaureate programme my school failed to get when i was in sec 1 (when i was 13) and now... let's just say i've lost my direction.

i want to go to rjc or hci now because yeah, they're among the top JCs and there's direct buses to there from my house but with my current grades (L1R5 of 15) i won't be able to get in for sure.

then there's the poly route which i half don't want but want because i want to take psychology (study of the human mind, not the counselling kind) in university and so far i haven't seen any poly course offering something like that.

and then there's acs i again cos IB is supposedly much better (from what i've seen) than the a level route but then again, acs i is super out of the way and expensive...

can anyone give me any advice or tell me what's life like in JC/poly/acs i? thanks a lot! (:

explain things to her, but don't appear so persistent, remember, you're asking for her forgiveness. did you try calling her? the last time i got extremely pissed with quite a close friend of mine [well, our relationship is somewhat like you and the girl's, except its not romantic] for doing something rather insensitive [nearly as bad as what you did] and the next morning he smsed me and asked for my forgiveness [which i didn't accept] and he called me during lesson time until i finally answered and [kind of] begged for my forgiveness. er. in the end i relented cos well, i was too damn tired to continue being angry. i don't think the girl will be like me [which she has already proven not to be] but maybe you could do what my friend did. and after that give her time. let her cool off for about a week or so. let her know how you feel, promise [sincerely] that you won't hurt her again. and don't make empty promises. if she needs to talk, listen, even if it hurts. then depending on how it goes, maybe after that things will go back to normal for you two again.

how do you know when you're happy? when you're completely satisfied with whatever life's gotta give and is going to give you. (:

Whether we actually do find happiness is ultimately up to us. It depends on our circumstances, what we desire and of course, our choices. Finding happiness can happen at the most unexpected of times; You may discover it when you're least aware of it or you may find it even when you're at the lowest point of your life.

The most important thing is to cherish what you've already achieved, be thankful for the amazing and beautiful bursts of joy you've already experienced and appreciate the moments of ecstasy you've had in your life. Because for all you know, when you're going through one of life's hellish roller coaster rides, you may actually find yourself enjoying the view.
